Summary of 2024 & plans for 2025 at Pragmatic Coders

2024 was the year of AI-driven transformation for Pragmatic Coders. We scaled automation, built cutting-edge AI-powered products, and streamlined our operations—while celebrating our 10th anniversary!
Yup, it’s crazy to think, but it’s been already 10 years that Pragmatic Coders has been in the industry (almost brings a tear to the eye).
Now it’s time to look ahead—what are our plans for 2025? In this article, we recap the past year’s key events and share our vision for the months to come.
Delivery in Numbers
The past year brought significant achievements in project delivery, despite a challenging market situation. The number of people in the Delivery team decreased; yet, our teams maintained their efficiency and even improved project delivery effectiveness.
- Monthly Delivery Rate (average hours per story) decreased from 72.95 h/story at the beginning of the year to 46.12 h/story by the end. We are delivering new features and responding to user needs faster than ever.
- Stories Ratio (percentage of completed stories*) increased from 38.14% to 46.53%. The reduced time spent coding individual stories translates into delivering more of them—meaning better team productivity.
- Team seniority has grown significantly: from 39% in 2022 to 73% in 2024. Our teams have become more experienced and composed of true experts.
*We extract all completed items from Jira for a given month. Then, they are grouped into stories, tasks, and bugs. The Stories Ratio is calculated as the percentage of stories in relation to the total number of completed items.
HR & Recruitment
2024 was also an intense year for the HR and recruitment department. Over the year:
- 2,340 candidates entered our database,
- We conducted 307 HR interviews,
- 137 technical meetings with candidates took place,
- 52 Culture Checks were completed,
- 20 new people joined the team.
We remain committed to hiring the best specialists in the market. With a rigorous selection process (only 20 hires out of 2,340 candidates), we ensure that every new team member does not just “speak our language” but is simply a top-tier professional.
As mentioned earlier, this year we introduced several new AI-powered initiatives to support our organizational culture and team engagement. In HR, we call it back-office automation—new solutions that enhance onboarding and overall work comfort.

Web Summit 2024 in Lisbon
2024 was also a busy year in terms of sales and building relationships with partners.
We participated in key conferences in London, Dubai, Warsaw, Lisbon, and Kraków, showcasing our expertise, developing new business opportunities, and high-fiving with old friends.
Content Creation & Knowledge Sharing
Sharing knowledge has always been a core value at Pragmatic Coders. So, it’s no surprise that in 2024, we doubled down on creating valuable content for our community.
We produced a significant amount of content, leveraging the expertise of our developers and designers, as well as external experts—the last one mainly through the Pragmatic Talks YouTube channel (105 video materials, totaling 792 minutes!).

Summing up 2024, we set three key goals for the coming months:
- The market is changing and accelerating—we want to accelerate as well.
- We’re exploring several exciting potential opportunities, especially AI agents.
- Priority: increase efficiency, adapt to changes, and be at the forefront of market shifts.
2024 was full of challenges but also big successes. We can’t wait to see what 2025 will bring!
